Reason is one type of organization. Ways is another type of organization. Let's create topic sentences for this type. Our definition for topic sentence stays the same. It is topic (subject or question) + the type of organization. We will use the 3 steps but we just add different vocabulary in step 3.
For ways, the question will often start with “how or what ways.”
SAMPLE WITH HOW: How do people learn how to drive safely?
Step 1: Delete the wh question.
Step 2: Delete do, does or did. If am/is/are, move it after the subject.
Step 3: Copy the rest and add the type of writing.
For ways: add “in several ways or in a couple of ways.”
